This political cartoon show the United States of America defeating the British during the war of 1812. The blood gushing freely from

the English King's nose represents the heavy losses inflicted on the British Army in battles such as The Battle of New Orleans, which saw the English lose thousand soldiers, while Andrew Jackson only lost seventy. Another American victory was the Battle of Plattsburgh, which forced the retreat of an invading English army that was attempting to invade New York. These victories resulted in the Treaty of Ghent, which saw both sides agree to stop fighting and restore conquered territory. (Patrick is taking the picture which is why he isn't in it)
